For the Move

  • Starting Ohio State QB Kyle McCord is transferring to Syracuse and backup QB Devin Brown will start
  • Although it has not been announced, Marvin Harrison, Jr is expected to opt-out of the game

Against the Move

  • The Ohio State defense was #2 in the country giving up only 11 points per game
  • Missouri has only covered once in the last 8 games when favored by 3 points or less

Richie’s Take:

While Kyle McCord had some good numbers for the Buckeyes this season, it’s hard to believe his absence is worth an 8 point move in the spread. The line may also be factoring in the possible absence of Marvin Harrison Jr., which is still to be determined. While the Buckeye offense will likely be impacted by transfers and opt-outs, the Ohio State defense will be largely intact. Any time you can get points in a non-playoff bowl game with the Buckeyes, it seems like good value. But hurry, this line was Ohio State +2.5 yesterday (12/18) . . .
